Dessert is a food group in my life and my favorite pastime is trying out new places. I moved to Northern Virginia (NoVa) last year and I have been enjoying the amazing food scene here.
I wanted to share some of my favorite spots to go for indulgent desserts. The great part is that all of these places offer takeout and some even do delivery, so you can enjoy delicious desserts from the comfort and safety of your home.
1. Mango Mango Dessert - Falls Church, VA
If you can't tell by the name, this dessert cafe has everything mango! And if you know me personally you know mango flavored anything is my favorite and I thrive during mango season. However, since mango season is so short I love visiting Mango Mango Dessert for my mango cravings throughout the year. A few of my favorite items to order is the mango ice cream, mango mille cake, and the mixed fruit jasmine tea. All of their menu items are unique and honestly so yummy!
2. Who Seek - Chantilly, VA
Who Seek is a Korean dessert cafe hidden in busy Chantilly. When you walk in, you're greeted by friendly staff and a small dark ambiance seating area. But behind a secret door, there is a beautiful, bright and cozy lounge area to hangout and enjoy their delicious treats. They offer classic treats like the Korean Snowflake which is one of my favorite items to order. I also love their Croffle which is a combination of croissant + waffle and is served with your choice of ice cream. The best part about Who Seek is that their coffee is really good too!
3. Dessert Lounge - Herndon, VA
Dessert lounge is my go-to spot for the summer time. They serve traditional south asian desserts like falooda and kulfi as well as milkshakes and ice cream with a twist. I love that they have unique flavors like guava, rose petal, figs and walnuts and tiramisu. You can customize all of the dessert items to your likeness. Their Pista (pistachio) Falooda is the perfect treat for a hot summer day.
4. Magnolia Dessert Bar & Coffee - Alexandria & Vienna, VA
Magnolia is a pretty well-known dessert bar in NoVa but they recently opened a new location in Old Alexandria and it is beautiful! I love desserts, but pretty desserts make the experience even better. The new location is inside the delicious Sisters Thai restaurant which gives you the perfect excuse to enjoy Thai for dinner. I've been to both of Magnolia's locations a few times and I always order the Mango Yogurt. It's so refreshing after the decadent Honey Toast, Nutella Waffle, and Crispy Banana Crepe.
5. Classic Bakery - Tysons, VA
Classic Bakery will always have a special place in my heart because they made our delicious wedding cake. They have so many amazing treats and everything I have tried has been delicious. Baklava, pastries, cookies, croissants, pies, fruit tarts, cinnamon rolls, macarons, custom cakes...you name it and they have it! Everything is hand made fresh daily and you can taste that quality in their treats. Apart from my delicious wedding cake, my favorite is their walnut baklava.
