Fall Inspired Butter Board

The viral butter board has taken the internet my storm, and of course I had to try it out. In theory, it sounds delicious. A smear of butter with sweet, sour, crunchy toppings! What’s not to love? Now I’ve seen many variations of this trend from spicy to savory to even a peanut butter board. Here’s my take — a fall inspired butter board! It’s creamy, warm, perfectly sweet, and pairs great with a cup of tea or a pumpkin spice latte.

The key is to use a high quality butter, I opted for Kerrygolf unsalted butter. I let it soften for about 30-60 minutes and then a generous amount of the butter onto a plate, I used about 1/3 of the packet.

I added dollops of fig & honey jam for some sweetness. Now this is where it gets fun, the toppings. I added diced apples and crushed walnuts for a crunch. A drizzle of maple syrup and sprinkle of cinnamon powder— and you’re done!

I served my hoard with fresh sourdough bread and graham crackers. And guys this is the perfect fall treat! It’s the perfect balance of sweet, crunchy, & just so delicious.

What I love most about this butter board, is that it’s super customizable to exactly what you like! I used items from my pantry that I already loved and know would taste good together. This is going to be a staple on my menu for all my fall & winter dinner parties!

What are your thoughts on this trend? Will you give it a try, let me know!
